With many new technology, eDP cables provide benefits that older model cables. Many LCD manufacturers are moving to add eDP (embedded display port) interfaces to their LCDs for this reason. eDP interface allows higher transmission speeds than LVDS cables. eDP also uses fewer conductors in your cable design, reducing space and possible cost depending on the design.
Another benefit of eDP cables is that they allow you to easily connect your source (such as a personal computer) directly to the LCD display. They are also compatible with display port standards and Ecocables has experience building eDP display port cables. Many eDP cables use IPEX micro coaxial connectors.
