In electronics, telephone connectors are a series of commonly used connectors for analog signals (mainly audio signals). It is cylindrical and usually has two, three or four contacts. Three-contact connectors are called TRS connectors, where T stands for "tip", R stands for "ring", and S stands for "sleeve". Similarly, the two-contact and four-contact versions are called TS and TRRS connectors, respectively.
It is also called audio jack, telephone jack, telephone plug, and jack plug. The specific models are called stereo plug, mini stereo, mini jack, headphone jack, microphone jack, mini phone connector, bantam plug.
