Thermoplastics are widely used as insulating materials because they can obtain good electrical properties due to their thin insulation thickness, especially in high-voltage cables. In addition, cables with a thinner insulation layer are usually smaller in size than cables made of thermosetting insulating materials with the same electrical properties.
