Choose Dolby Digital or DTS

May 30, 2019 Leave a message

To consumers, they don't seem to care much about whether a DVD video disc uses Dolby Digital or DTS sound system. These things are often the ones that the disc publisher needs to worry about. Most home theater systems can support Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound at the same time, and many DVDs themselves provide both Dolby Digital and DTS encoding on a DVD disc.

Both sound coding systems can provide high-quality 5.1 digital audio, and can be played using the same set of power amplifiers and speakers. For DVDs that provide both audio encodings, users can select Dolby Digital or DTS surround sound in the sound submenu.
