The DB-25 is a common connector used to connect external modems and RS-232 serial peripherals on older ibm compatible computers. The DB-25 female connector is the parallel port connector of most personal computers. For the first time, DB-25 has a long service life with the original IBM personal computer (PC).
The bus DB-25 was used extensively in the printer port of PCs in the past (see Printer Cable). When the serial port is popular, the male DB-25 is also the second serial port (COM2) of the PC. It is still widely used in RS-232 communication equipment.
